Arrhythmias

Afternoon all. I was wondering if anyone can give any advice into the use of flecainide to treat arrhythmias. I have just finished a telephone consultation with an electrophysiologist who has suggested this drug alongside the bisoprolol I currently take - it's only 1.25 and I really don't think it's helping at all.

Currently my choices are learn to live with it (not very strong there) or try this new drug. Any experiences would be gratefully received.

Thank you.

Hi Debbie

Flecainide is a very popular drug for calming heart rhythm disturbances. I took it for many years and it was the only pill which really helped. There is a forum on Health Unlocked regarding Atrial fibrillation which I'm sure you will get more answers from:

I was off it for a while but have an infection in my heart at the moment. so have gone back on it briefly to keep my pulse down.
