Losartan/Furosemide?

Hello again,just received this month's prescription with 3 notes from Pharmacy saying "Losartan tabs 25mg interacts with Furosemide tabs 40 mg with the following effect: Hypotensive effect enhanced"The BNF lists this as a serious interaction.i s this why my BP is usually mid 140-150's?

Hello. Are you already on these medications or are they new to you? A systolic BP of 140-150 is far from hypotensive - in fact it is somewhat high and nearer hypertensive. The other question is what is your diastolic BP?

P.S. Did you buy the tablet popper from Amazon?

Thank you MichaelJH I have been on this combination now for a couple of years, Losartan for much longer. My BP today was 138/61 HR 64 which is much better than it has been. I'm probably a bit dim, but what is a tablet popper?

hypotension is low blood pressure not high. I was already on furosemide before my heart attack and it kept my BP so well controlled I didn't need any BP tablets afterwards. I think you should talk to your GP.

Thanks, yes I had a senior moment yesterday - not for the first time - so concerned about my Husband that when my prescription arrived with all the 'serious' comments all over the bag it threw me. Did email the Surgery Dispensary and they came back with the HYPO answer. My BP this morning was still on the verge of high which it always is so let's hope this combo will start working. Thanks again
