Entresto and icd: hi does anyone have... - British Heart Fou...
Entresto and icd
Iβm on Entresto to hopefully improve my EF from its 30-35 range and not need an ICD fitting. Not sure about those who already have an ICD - so will be interesting to see your replies.
Thankyou for your reply! How long have you been on Entresto? I went on it briefly but I needed a ICD fitted it did make me feel better so hereβs hoping you can! I hope it makes a huge difference to you! I will ask the next time I speak to specialist ππ»
I went on Entresto 49/51 last Sept then onto a higher 97/103 dosage a couple of months ago. Not had an EF check since Autumn last year when it was 30-35 so hoping the Entresto will help to give me a higher reading now. Good luck & hope all goes well when you speak to your specialist.
Hi I went to see my specialist and I am starting on Entresto also ! Thanks for replying and π€ that it gives us all better E/F Keep us posted! ππ»
Dear coop61
I have had a CRT-d fitted and I have been placed on Entresto { middle dose } my fractions have already seen an improvement.
My breathlessness seems to be down to water around the heart and with tweaking the spironolactone that seems to be helping.
Take care
Thanks for your reply! I saw my specialist and she said she wanted to start me on Entresto also I think that is where my issues are! That is great news that there is a improvement and here is to a great E/F result for us all π€
I have had an ICD for several years and was put on Entresto and Spirolactone a couple of years ago. It really helped. I walked 19 miles one day last month with no problems. Definitely worth a try to see how you tolerate it.
Hi, I have an ICD and my EF had stabilised at about 35 following a cardiac arrest/heart attacks about 18 months earlier (EF was about 15 at that point). Put on max dose of Entresto and had a echocardiogram about 2 years later (delayed re Covid) and EF up to 49 - Cardiologist really impressed! The Entresto was phased in and some issues re low blood pressure (I have a healthy blood pressure before any medication) but all now fine. ICD has not been triggered so all positive.
Interestingly, my cardiologist mentioned other new drugs that are now available for heart failure if Entresto doesn't work or diminishes in effectiveness.
I'm very pleased how things have progressed from a fairly grim prognosis at the outset.
Hope it goes as well for you.
Hey I have an ICD and on the lowest dose of entresto as can't tolerate the higher doses. I have a few other meds too. I've not had any issues. It hasn't raised my EF as of yet and I've been on it just over a year, EF has stayed at 15% . But everyone is different. Take care x
Hi, I have an ICD(Jan20) @ have been on top dose Entresto since Dec 19, I find it really has helped my EF has gone from 22% (July 19 upon diagnosis) to 35% March 22, soon as I started the Entresto I found it helped with the breathlessness- I do get very tired some days but Iβm on 10mg of bisoprolol so could be the reason. X
I have an ICD and was put on Entresto (maximum dose)at the start of this year. My EF has improved from 20% to 60%. I'm quite pleased with it.
Hi. I started entresto about 11 days ago. So far, no unpleasant side effects but Iβm on the lowest dose. I probably wonβt know until my echo in December if thereβs an improvement in my ef but itβs worth a shot. Hope it works out for you.
Waw! Soo many people on this ! I was talking to the specialist and she was saying they done tests with this and they stopped it early as it proved to be soo good so π€Goodluck to us all ππ»
