Us here not being medics, the only advice I can offer is can your GP try another drug - we all react differently. Check your diet, more fresh fruit and veg, less heavily processed food and salty stuff, if you haven't already, and increase the exercise a bit. It's worth having a look at the main BHF website for information on all these topics.
Hello
I am not a Doctor but feel after 3 weeks there should be some improvement with your BP
I would contact the Doctors again they may need to make some changes to your medication
Let us know how you get on x
It took me 2 months before my BP dropped with Amlodopine 10mg and Ramapril 2.5mg but only when I totally gave up caffeine, I can't be the only person in the world to have such an intolerance to caffeine, it may be worth giving it up for a week or two and check the effects on your BP.
All tablets don't suit or work for everyone. Your doctor needs to try something else. I have CKD and a pacemaker after I had it my b.p was going too high damaging my kidney function so I was put on Doxazosin 1x 4mg morning and Teatime and been ok. Amlodopine gave me leg ulcers after 3 days and I still have the scars. Good luck and hope your doctor helps. Brian
