Can you go on the 3 British foundation diet plan?
Hello and welcome to the forum!
This diet is a fad diet and has nothing to do with the BHF despite what various individuals post on the Interweb! The BHF have commented about it here:

I am a lifelong Type I diabetic and was a committee member of a support group for all types for over a decade. With Type II it can be tricky to comment as it is treated in so many ways; diet alone, Metformin, insulin and newer medications including injectables. If you are on diet alone or metformin without any other diabetic medications I would suggest the BHF recommended Mediterranean diet limiting carbs to 100gm per day.. Otherwise I would suggest you seek advice from your GP who may put you in contact with a dietician. Good luck!
Dear cat-call-pappa
A warm welcome to you, we hope that the forum will be as informative and supportive as it is to many of us.
Regardless if its safe or not, there must be better ways to shift weight than that, even without diabetes it is a hard diet that is doomed to failure.
Put it this way if you have the dedication to follow something like that then you will have no trouble following a healthier one that will supply your body with everything that it needs while losing that weight.
While you are on the site there is some great guidance from the BHF here and I think if you are anything like me, that the size of portions were my biggest shock.
Take care and we look forward to hearing from you again.
