I assume a cardiac MRI gives more detail than an echocardiogram?

Each give different answers to questions and both of mine were ok it wasn’t till I had an angiogram that the problem was picked up make sure you insist on all three

yes, a cardiac MRI or CMR as i know it is the best method at looking at the microstructure of the heart.

Yes my husband was deemed to be probably unsuitable for bypass and valve surgery based on echo and stress tests back in 2016. Cardiac mri showed otherwise and the surgeon went ahead with surgery.
