Hi. Just been diagnosed two weeks ago, with LVSD. Ej Fr was 40% four months ago. Only just got results! Waiting to see Heart Specialist. I was calm at first, but last few days have been nervous about being out, and about on my own. Wobbly legs, and chest discomfort. Anyone any tips for keeping calm, whilst waiting to see Specialist. Thanks.

Hello Deels7. I’m sorry you’re going through this!!! Finding out about these kind of things is a horrible & scary feeling! Waiting to see Doctors, get results or have procedures done are as well! I’ve had wobbly legs, constant chest pain, fatigue, dizziness etc for the last 2 months since I found out about my heart condition (asd ostium secundum). I’ve been to ER twice and I’m currently seeing all kinds of Doctors. I know a lot of people go to youtube and look for videos on Breathing, anxiety & meditation which helps thems. Unfortunately Others, like myself, need to see Doctors and use medication to try and deal with the anxiety, stress, panic, nervousness & everything else.Unfortunately as well, that doesn’t work many time either 🤦🏻‍♂️

It’s really hard and many of us are all on the same boat! I feel, Talking to others that understand what you’re going through or feeling is very helpful! Many of our friends & family won’t understand.

Thank you so much for replying Alex. So sorry that you have also been suffering, since your diagnosis. I do not get on very well with medication, usually, so I am off to try some meditation tomorrow, see if that can calm me down a little. I made the usual mistake of googling my condition. Needless to say, as a result, I am now awaiting either sudden death, or cardiac arrest. 😄 So, no more googling for me. Instead I will concentrate my efforts on this lovely forum. Just reading about others, in a similar position, is providing great support, at this time. Thank you. I wish you well. 🙂

Thank you for your message Deels7. I wish you well 2! I did the big Google mistake as well on the first day I found out about my heart condition! I haven’t been the same since that specific date! Just horrible! Now I’m terrified all day long, every single day

Hi I have LVSD too. Luckily I haven't reacted too badly to the medication. There are a couple.of really helpful FB pages that I have joined. I find it reassuring when I discover a new symptom that in fact it's very common in others with LVSD. So they know what's caused yours?

Hi there, thank you for your reply. Glad you are getting on okay, with the medications, that's good. 🙂 They do not know what has caused my problem. I had a chest x-ray a year ago, and everything was fine. So, it has come from nowhere really. Anyway, I am sure once I see the heart specialist, everything will be explained to me. Thanks. 🙂

Yes never Google. I have epstein anomoly congenital heart disease, found in February this year. And now waiting for loads of results. My anxiety is through the roof. Even though I have suffered for many years with anxiety. It is not easy. People say try to be postive. Try to keep your mind active. God if only it was that easy. I try to take the positive from the test I have currently have had. But I should not have googled because they are all American sites. There is hardly any information from the UK. It is not easy. But only you can battle it as iam finding. Your inner monologue becomes your worst enemy. But it needs to be your best friend. Good luck on your journey. Mine is just starting.

Thank you. It is not easy is it? The mind is so very powerful, and can cause absolute chaos, in certain situations. I wish you well, and good luck. We are all in this club, together, that we didn't want to be a member of, sadly. Take care. 🙂
