I want a one off consultation with a cardiologist to discuss my echocardiogram results while I wait a year to see the NHS chap. How do I find one? Does anyone know of someone in the Midlands whom they could recommend?

Wanted: cardiologist in Midlands
I had private consultations with cardiologists. It was a fascinating experience and I learned a great deal of interesting background information. In terms of costs it was less than I spend on car servicing each year, so as far as I was concerned it was money well spent.
But am I healthier as a result, in other words did it change the medical outcome?
In my case at least, I don't believe it did.
It was effectively several hundred pounds to discover that medication and life style changes are what makes the real difference to our prospects. What I learned about the NHS is that their apparent brusqueness and indifference isn't evidence of poor medical treatment, it's because they know that by and large it's our actions that makes the real difference, not theirs.
Good luck!
Hi Classicfan49,
I like you am in the Midlands. I believe luckily for me the E mids, as I was taken to and continue to receive treatment from Glenfield Hospital (emergency treatment) and Leicester General for my rehab support. They have been and continue to be superb, I have no doubt I would not have received any better treatment anywhere else, whether NHS or private, and I thank them with all my heart (odd how we use this phrase!). Anyway, I certainly recommend these hospitals consultants for their expertise and professionalism. Good luck.
Names of people you’ve seen there would be useful. I’m in Solihull so not a million miles away.
We are very fortunate in our area as we have the "Birmingham Heart Rhythm Group" based in the BMI Priory Edgbaston. If you look them up you will see various patient testimonials. The secretary is very helpful. I have been under the excellent care of Doctors Bono & Lencioni. They also work in the QE Birmingham. Do let us know how you get on
Hi I was treated by a fantastic team at Stoke University hospital. If you would like the name of my Cardiologist please message me. Many thanks, Judi

Hi, im in Solihull. Have been under a Cardiologist privately for c3 years and was under NHS for my recent open heart surgery. I would highly recommend my Cardiologist. Is it ok to put names on here?
I saw an excellent one in West Midlands...for same reason as you, as a one-off while waiting. If you want to Private Message me I will give you the name.
If you want the best you're not too far from Papworth Hospital attached to Addenbrokes in Cambridge.
I was done at Papworth hospital edge of Cambridge. Leaders in this field and they also do private. I would recommend them
I had a 12+ week wait for an ECG on NHS following a stroke so went private to Heart of England Cardiology based in Northampton. Also booked an Echocardiogram too. From approach to Consultant face to face review of results 7days! Very good. I won't mention cardiologist by name but the above should enable a Google search.
Good morning. I would highly recommend the cardiologists at Nuffield health in Leamington spa. Hope that helps.
We went private for an initial consultation with a consultant and it was well worth the money as my husband urgently needed stents. We went to Spire, or you could use Nuffield or Bupa as the consultants tend to have their name on a number of private health care providers. We first of all looked at their specialties and picked the one that suited what my husband was experiencing and the procedures he had had in the past, such as angiograms and stents etc., The waiting list to see a cardiologist in our area was well over a year and my husband needed new stents badly. Hope you are successful in finding someone suitable with a bit of research into what they specialize in. All the best.
