Light headed and warm legs

Good morning,

Had a bypass and new valve in November 21 and seemed to be recovering well. Still some pains in my sternum and ribs but i have been assured this is normal healing to nerves and muscles. Walking, exercising OK and generally feeling on the mend. I was encouraged to come off a daily 30mg dihydrocodeine when I could and have halved the dose with a view to ending soon.

Then recently lost my appetite and developed a light headed feeling which is a bit unpleasant, plus I now notice that my calves and feet occasionally begin to feel warm which is new and feels odd.

Questions:

Anyone experienced effects like this?

I can’t imagine that reducing a daily 30mg dihydrocodeine as slowly as this is creating these changes, but it is an opioid.

Thanks.

Dear Mog06

Well done in doing so well to get through all you have in the last few months.

You have to remember that I am not medically trained but also suffered with warm ankles/feet for a period of time during my recovery.

As soon as my nurse balanced out my water retention the feeling went, only to be replaced with very cold extremities {feet and hands}.

It could be worth your while giving your heart team/Drs a call. It may still be down to stopping opioids, but you really need to have your circulation checked.

Also the light head feelings need to be looked at as it is not normal.

As for your appetite, again its something that you should report, check your weight regularly and make a note of it.

I still have in the cupboard a few of those milk shake type drinks that were given me in hospital when I couldn’t {wouldn’t} eat, now on ‘off eating days’ I still have one. {get them on prescription or buy them in the chemist like I do}

Hope you get your answers as your journey is going so well.

Take care and please keep us informed
