warm flushes
Hello
I have always found that Bisoprolol if anything makes me feel colder
Are you stressing over taking the medication ot just stressing in general
As someone that suffers with anxiety I do know you can go hot all of a sudden that does not last long so it could be due to the stress you are feeling
Hopefully it will settle down when you are able to feel less anxious if it did continue and was really bothering you then next time you talk to your Doctor you could always mention it x
i am getting stressed out over it and other things find it hard at times to calm down.
Hello
So you are getting stressed over the medication
I hope I have got that bit right
I have a dreadful med fear I really do and struggle so much yet I take this tablet as my Consultant and Surgeon stressed it has to be taken to help my heart so even though I do not like it I take it because I try and look at it as this is not something to fear but something that is helping me and it will be helping you to
I do not know if you are getting any support but if you are struggling let your Doctor know and get some support as sometimes we need it x
Thanks for the advice, when I was first diagnosed with atrium fibrillation 2018 they did,t give me anything and it did,t bother me, never really noticed it,but since it's becoming more noticeable past the two weeks. That's when he started me on the bisoprolol, started one a day then two but back down to one because I was having really bad feelings in my body and that's just in the first week.
Hello
Whenever I am given a new med because I fear them the moment I take one I start to feel allsorts of strange feelings then that causes me to start getting anxious and even feel I am having panic attacks by the time I have finished
In the past depending what med it is and always after speaking with my Doctor I have come of the med a few days and like a miracle all those horrible feelings have gone which really tells me it was not the med but me and my anxiety but it is hard to control
Bisoprolol for some can actually relax them but if you get anxious then the anxiety takes over that relaxing effect
It also can make you feel tired but for most that eventually settles down
It is a good drug one that Consultants and Surgeons highly recommend and it will only do us good rather than not
When ever you start a new med you may get some side effects for a few weeks and when you are anxious that freaks you out but once your body adjusts those side effects will normally go away
Try and focus that when you take it it is helping you and your heart rather than going to make you ill in any way and maybe when you get these strange feelings just sit down and try and relax till they pass
Give them a good chance to do their job so many of us on here take this med so you have not been given anything unusual but a good medication that is going to help you so try and stick with it and let us know how you get on x
I took think that my medication has caused hot sweats. Bispo being one of them, they started while I was in Papworth only a few days after starting but of course everyone says because I am a women and puts it down to my age even though hit flushes had stopped. I still get them 9 months on so who knows.
Bisoprolol has all sorts of side effects and AFAIK there are several alternatives to it. Medics like it because it is cheap.......
It used to cause that for me but only when I stood up after sitting, it caused a bit of dizziness as well at the same time. All for around 20-30s
I am 16 weeks post Op' (OHS - MVR) and on a reduced 1.25mg daily - it still gives me nausea, If I am not taken off it soon will seek a replacement - my only other meds are a statin and rivaroxaban ..... meds do clash !!
i,m on 1.25 and i,m also taken penicillin for a cough i,ve had for a few weeks.
You are not In Ramipril too are you? Just asking as Ramipril gave me an awful cough, after 5 months I had had enough and my gp mentioned it could be ramipril so came off it and after two weeks I no longer have the cough.
Other way round with me I've been on 1.25 dose for a few weeks now and the tips of my fingers get very cold I had a few bumps and irregular heartbeat readings at the start as well. All will revealed one week today when I go for my angiogram.
also - don't forget that blood thinners cause similar circulation problems
when I started on them I got flushing in my face at times but it wore off and like Bekind28 says. My main problem is trying to keep warm I feel the cold a lot more than I did. I am on a low dose I can live with the few side effects at present being asthmatic I don’t know if I could tolerate a bigger dose only time will tell. In fact I have an appointment today with cardiologist so will see what happens
