I'm interested in my different kind of aches! I used to have angina, from exercise - drugs and a stent has stopped that, though I did experience a lot of 'bruising' ache after the stent, particularly when I tried to be 'normal' again and not wrap myself up in cotton wool - though I'm now so keen just to be normal and to do exercise without fear... however I also have a lot of stress, and am a involuntary breath holder, which doesn't help! When I get stressed/anxious I do feel an ache in my heart (so different from myangina which was shoulders to wrists), which goes away if take steps to calm down, but takes longer than the 'simple' angina, depending on what stressed me. Wonder why the physical ache though? Could stress/angst literally squeeze the heart, perhaps squashing the stent (as I didn't get any stress pain prior to stent)..I can't omit stress however as a lot is from six year old and family, which obviously also gives a lot of pleasure! However I used to be ok with stress and now I get scared of it...

Dear Mangomontoast
Hello to you and the worry over the odd ache that you have. I am not medically trained but something has you that worried that you have asked the question on here.
A few members here are very ill with anxiety/stress and all it can physically do to both the mind and body, they are in a better position to answer that side of your question than I am, but and it is a big but,
Without adding to your worry you should get this ache checked out, yes I know stress and anxiety can feel like you are saying but so can other things, which you have already guessed hence asking the question.
Please contact your Dr and explain {as you have us} exactly how you are feeling and let someone medically trained take a look at you.
Stress and anxiety is not nothing and there is help for you, just ask the right people the questions.
Take care and please keep us informed.

Thank you Blue! I did think the stent would ‘solve everything’ but feel perhaps it’s created more problems… I do have a meeting with the consultant on the 27th so will make a diary before then… many thanks for wise words.
