Worried wife update triple bypass
Delighted Roger over his op. It will be lovely to visit him. Speedy recovery to him. Keep us posted x
Hello
This is brilliant news and thank you for letting us know
I am so glad you can visit as well and please all the machines etc he may be connect to don't let it scare you it looks worse than what it is they are just there monitoring everything we all have them when we have this op but it is all very clever how they do it and make sure we are doing well
Maybe make a list of questions before you go incase you get a bit overwhelmed and then you can just get it out and ask
I hope you will post again and let us know how well his recovery is going
Sending you both my best Wishes x
Dear wife of Roger.
I am so glad to hear that roger has come safely through his operation and now is starting his recovery.
Try not to be to upset when you see him as he has be bashed around a bit and will be feeling sore { hopefully managed by pain relief} and a bit shocked with it all.
He will have tubes all over the place and monitors doing monitor things, all this can be explained by the ward nurses and they will be glad to tell you about, what all the equipment does and what is happing to Roger.
Its the beginning of getting him home and back into your worried and loving arms.
Lesley, please make sure that you have support as well {from friends/family even professional if needed} as it effect the loved ones.
As always you are in my thoughts, we will never meet but please give Roger my thoughts.
He is not alone, you are not alone, we are not alone.
Take care
Hey that is brilliant news. The balloon pump will be removed once his heart is strong enough not to need support and he may be getting lots of different drugs to help keep him 'balanced' in the first few days. Having heart surgery is a major trauma for the body (the surgeon actually said it was an 'insult' to the body) and he will have been pushed and pulled about a bit....so do not be at all surprised if he looks a bit battered. As Blue1958 says, monitors everywhere and tubes sticking out all over the place. He may also be quite groggy due to the effects of anaesthetic and the very strong drugs administered. I have hazy memory of the first two or three days post surgery and certainly made no sense whatsoever to my family who came to visit. But the body is an amazing thing and he will recover ...albeit slowly. Getting out of bed is a huge step forward, walking around made me feel euphoric ... but early early days so take it slowly. Please keep us posted as to how he gets on...and how you are.

That’s great news and I’m glad you’ve been allowed in to see Roger.
Remember to take some time to look after yourself as you’ve been through a horrible time too. Take care.
Glad everyone has warned you what to expect - my friend told my sons what to expect so they didn't stress that things weren't going well, and it helped them enormously. Wishing him an ongoing speedy recovery- it's done now, the only way is up !
