1st Meeting with heart surgeon

Hi everyone,

I am meeting heart surgeon for the first time on Wednesday. I have developed symptoms since I last visited my cardiologist and I have told him, but it hasn't sped up the appt with the surgeon unfortunately.

I can now feel my heart in my chest, down where my apex beat is and some uncomfortable symptoms such as struggling with sleep due to strong visible pulses.

My question is: will the surgeon perform any tests at the meeting which will help move things forward, or is it just a general question and answer session?

I ask this as I am concerned my symptoms are getting much worser.

Hi not much help but is there a secretary’s number you could ring and maybe ask? Perhaps a number on your appointment letter? Sorry if obvious just a thought. Good luck with your appointment!

The only tests would be done pre meeting such as ecg. The consultant will look at any previous test data. It’s important to prepare for your meeting. Write down beforehand your symptoms and the questions that you want answered and write down in the meeting any answers that you get. You have one crack at the meeting. Good luck 🤞
