Is anyone else having problems getting their heart prescriptions filled. I changed from Boots to Lloydsdirect because of difficulties but this online service seems even worse. Entresto ordered on March 29th still has not arrived by April 11th!

I have checked and it does not appear to be on the list of medications in short supply. I would really appreciate some feedback and suggestions for a foolproof supplier on who. I can rely as this situation is stressing me out….

Dear Callista

I had the same problem with Boots and LLoyds direct on some drugs, I went with my local in store chemist in Tescos and have had no problems {touching wood} since.

My Entresto comes direct from the hospital by courier, odd I know but it seems that the hospital funds it for a while { sorry dont really understand how this works }

Take care.

Hello there. I used to be with Boots and changed to Lloyds as I was having problems with my Levothyroxine medication. I complained several times as I drove into town to get it as I lived in a rural area - They told me that the prescriptions are sent out to a 'third party' and not done in their stores. I was never resolved so that's why I moved to Lloyds. When I was put onto Bisoprolol I had no problems getting it but when the Cardiologist changed me onto Sotalol I had to go to 3 Chemists to get my first dose as none had it in stock. I am happy to say so far filling my prescription has been ok but I have to wait 4 working days before I pick it up. Hope you get everything sorted out.

I order the drugs online via my local pharmacy. (Lloyds group). Entresto turns up within 2 days. (This afternoon in fact) Can you phone the pharmacy that supplies yours, or the GP surgery?

I use my !ocal pharmacy. They handle the prescription for recurring items like BP meds and statins. Whilst I collect n person they will deliver.if I am.too ill or my health fails. Also I can speak to someone I know if I have a query or worry. Shop local!

I agree with this , I’m the same I use a local chemist ( Shergill ) never had a problem I get my medication delivered and it’s mostly always brought to me the day after ordering . Fantastic service

Can't agree more, local always for me, they do mine and my fathers and always ask when I pick them up do I want the same next month and reorder it there and then, I normally pick up both prescriptions about 3 days before I run out, (just in case as it takes them 2 days to get some things) and they are ready for collection.

Customer service is second to none. Have had a problem once but they solved it really quickly, wouldn't and don't want to go anywhere else.

Add on they did our flu jabs as well.

The only way I would use a service like Lloyd's Direct was if I lived in a rural area with no local pharmacy. In every other case I would find a local independent pharmacy, if I have issues I want a pharmacist I can have a face to face chat with or at least have a phone call with.

I read that Lloyd's lost £100,000,000 last year and has again been sold, this time to some American venture capitalists.

I live in a very rural area and two local independent pharmacies will deliver. It would take me about 4 hours to do a round trip of about 7 miles by bus, with nothing to do while waiting for the return bus.

i order online and a local chemist delivers it. However the closest one to me only uses one supplier and often has difficulty which means I have to ring round other chemists to see if they have any in stock, then the GP to order a new prescription to be sent to the different pharmacy. Luckily we have one chemist in town which uses several suppliers and keeps quite large stocks so they usually have things. Last week it was my simvastatin the local one couldn't get. I'm allergic to certain preservatives and colourings so I need to avoid certain brands which my local pharmacy keeps a note of but it can cause problems.

My local village chemist (still called Rowlands) farms out repeat prescriptions to their 'hub' in Runcorn. Our problem lies in the fact that we have a shortage of Doctors in our area. It takes at least a week from the time we drop the request into the box in the Chemists to being able to pick up the pills.

It goes to the Drs for the new one to be printed and signed, always assuming there is a Dr at the Surgery to do this, then back to the Chemist to be sent to Runcorn to be made up then back to the Chemist to await pickup. Bank holidays add extra time, so you end up putting in a request every 2 to 3 weeks just to make sure you don't run out.

It doesn't seem to make much difference even if you take the script to the Drs yourself and pick it up from there.

Hi

I order from the GP practice & collect from the local boots. I’ve never had issues with the only heart medication I take ( bisoprolol ) being available, but have with others being out of stock (Sytron was frequently out of stock from all pharmacy’s in the city & there’s been a few times with Rizatriptan needing to be requested from other pharmacies .

HelloI'm new on here.

I get my medication from my local pharmacy who electronically send my prescription to the surgery every month. The pharmacy text me when my medication is ready to pick up, they will also deliver. So far there has been one small glitch which the pharmacy sorted out quickly. 😊
