For the past month I have been doing stretching exercises before I eat breakfast. It has improved my flexibility greatly, Improved some niggly pains in my joints as well and general well-being in general. I wonder if anyone has found stretching a valuable practice. I am trying to do a little search on this topic

Hi, It’s so good to see you’re finding doing the exercises you are so helpful 😊. Especially since it’s still recent since you started.
I am doing stretching type exercises (from physio who does lots of Pilates ) too, throughout the day . Lol, I’m so bad at them ! I have exercises for my neck, rotator cuff and knee…there definitely is no strong good looking 🧘♀️stretching for me🤭 I’m (trying to) doing them because of various musculoskeletal injuries and they are very helpful but it’s slow progress (which I find difficult) .
I think it may be a mind thing, since I previously only did hiking & running exercises which I’m pretty limited with now & my body exercising in completely different ways is taking a while to acclimatise to. I’m having similar issues with breathing exercises , but again it’s a work in progress.
You know what Nina The Viking, the key is not to give up, it's all about the mindset. You don't have to rush anything,just do what your body is able to do and what your physio is suggesting. The more you do the easier it will become. I am finding that consistency is key. So keep at it and good luck
I think it’s a good idea to stretch before breakfast. I try to swim/walk in the swimming pool before breakfast at least two to three times a week. On the days I manage this I have much less arthritic pains and have increased energy. I feel much happier and more motivated. I don’t always feel like going but I push myself and find I’m much better for it. The days I don’t go I make sure I walk as much as possible during the day. If I don’t do anything I am really stiff.
Yes, early morning stretches are great, in so many ways, including for me, state of mind. I try and cover all parts of my body, and double up the activity with a YouTube spiritual or health talk, or simply gentle music. I realise the meaning of 'feeling good in my skin' now!
Thank you. I am trying to really get into it , I like the idea of gentle music
Dear KBMosia
Hello to you on this forum { Being vegan I have tried some of your recipes that you post on Healthy Eating and loved them thank you}
Now there is nothing like a good old stretching exercises to get everything moving and working.
Now I say good because do them wrong and you can inflict yourself some nasty injury’s.
It is my go to exercise followed with dynamic tension exercise that is low impact but serves it purpose. All of it you have to learn and there is fantastic you tube videos to guide you.
It is so important {i know I am repeating myself} that you learn to do them right and then you will find that you can do some at anytime/anywhere during your day.
One of the first and easiest is the “good toes naughty toes” you think you know how to do it, but learn to do it right and it will surprise you what benefits it can give you. {I am doing them as I type}
Keep going you are doing well, Stretching is fantastic.
HelloIt's nice to hear that you 've tried some of my recipes and enjoyed them, especially when I am not a good cook except just to try and put healthy ingredients together . I totally agree with you about doing the stretches the right way to avoid injury, I do check some YouTube videos to follow for guidance. I am already beginning to feel the benefits even after a short time that I started doing them, I am determined to to continue. Thank you for the advice
