Medication changes. Trying to keep positive.

My cardiologist for the first time has deleted a couple of meds, Nicorandil 20mg twice a day and Isosorbide 120mg day. Plus swapped Metopolol 75mg twice a day to Bisoprolol 10mg daily.

Just had my 5th stent, 7th angiogram. I found this one more difficult to cope with. Just because no matter what my cholesterol is, I still get blockages. Cholesterol 4, usually 3, I let my guard down. Really trying hard to get it back down without increasing Atovastin 20mg. I did say, if I can't get it down, I will go up to 40mg. It does increase my pain, I have chronic back pain, degenerative spine.

With my other health problems and caring for sick husband it's hard to keep positive. Lately getting so muddled, forgetting words and what I was about to do. I do joke about it. Always say, I believe in the hearafter, ' what am I here after?'

I'm hoping the medication changes don't cause problems, I'm not one who experiences side effects, which is just as well, I'm on 26 tablets a day for my health.

I'm just after a bit of encouragement to get focused. Thanks. Moni

I complain about having to take three tabs. It's worth trying to discuss all those with your cardiologist. Have you tried the BHF nurses? They might be able to help. My fullest sympathy in dealing with your present situation.

Thats why I'm nervous, usually cardiologist increases meds, I have 2 cardiologists, one who I see privately and the other who does my angiograms. Pharmacist also reviews medications. My gp complains I'm on too much, but I'm not the one writing the prescriptions. I do my best with diet, everything made as healthy as I can. Just need to focus. Take care. Moni

I had this problem with my mother. Different docs gave her different meds, and nobody would look at the whole picture. Best wishes for a better outcome.

Hello :-)

What a lot of medications you take but I can tell you are a fighter and strong lady who will cope with the help and support or a listening ear from members on here :-)

I will keep my fingers crossed these meds help and cause you no problems

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Hello Moni, you are going through the mill, I'm sorry to hear. It sounds like you are getting all the medical help and treatment available. In the UK, we think we are lucky to get to speak to a Dr over the phone ☎️😂 But despite all that, I understand how hard it must be for you.

I have started using some supplements to boost the cholesterol treatment, have a look at spirulina (tastes awful) Not sure if it will help, or has any contraindications with your medication, so check first. Maybe you could find a good chemist or herbal shop where they have some knowledge and will suggest something for you. Always check with your cardiologist before using something.

I do like your analogy 'what am I here after?' I could use that!!

I hope you feel more positive soon x

I had angiogram, angioplasty and stent on LAD 4 weeks ago. This was the follow up appointment. Just nervous by the changes. My neurologist hasn't helped, said she can't help with my Functional neurological disorder. Just everything getting on top of me. Just need to refocus. I am trying harder with my diet. Thank you for your reply. Take care. Moni
