Is it unusual to have stent pain 4weeks post procedure?

Also medication

I'm on Atovastastin and tricagrelor along with the usual aspirin and lanzaprozole.

I'm getting odd aches but also a daily pain in back of my right shoulder half way down back.

Dull ache. .never had this before so just wondering if anyone else has?

Also pain in ankles one day then groin or thighs! Is this the statins?

Im on 40mg.

Waiting to go in for MRI profusion scan to see if I'm suffering from MVA or pritzmetal angina or if it's none cardiac?

So still getting pain

Am also having forgetful and confused moments. Probably me just getting old haha! But putting thing away in wrong places etc...

And the big one!!! Breathless for no sudden reason? Especially on waking then it will just dissappear.

All this is making me wonder of it could be part meds that are causing it??

Any Response would be greatly appreciated

Rob

Hi Rob

I am 3 months post stents and have no pain at all. I did have a CABG a couple of years before the recent stents. Meds are standard Clopi Dog Grel also known as Clopidogrel 75mg, Asprin 75mg Bisoprolol 7.5mg ( 5mg morning 2.5mg night ) Eplerenone 25mg, Furosemide 20mg once per day, Candesartan 8mg, and Omeprazole 20mg once per day. Night Statin is Pravastatin 10mg and I am managing pretty well ( I think ) Cardiologist again in August and Echocardiogram next week.

Have you started a new meds routine since your stents ?

I have been lucky with meds only problems have been with Ramipril, Cough. Spironlectrone ( spelling ) getting Boobs. and Bisoprolol cold hands. Swopped Ramipril for Candesartan and Spironlectone for Eplerenone which cured the problems !!!

All this Heart business takes a bit of getting used to I have been at it since 1982 ( 1st Heart Attack ) 2015 CABG X 2 RCA totally blocked so no point in bypass and then 2018 3 stents in the LAD which had previous bypass. I now feel pretty good overall going to Cardiac Rehab, Happy with Life and Confident of a few more years to go.

Hang in there, but should you feel not quite right, see your GP soonest they really are overall Pretty Dam Good.

regards

Sadly my doctor ISN'T any good..

I don't trust a man who prescibes gaviscon to my step daughter when she was having period pain.

My cardiologist is now sending me for a fast tracked MRI profusion scan to see if the ongoing pain could be my small vessels (Micro vascular angina)

Sadly the treatment and understanding is not good..

I had 100%blocked LAD had stent and tried to move on.

One month later I'm still in discomfort at times

Its ruining family life and work .

I believe I now have angina...that's what is emotionally hard as well as physically.

So I'm on tender hooks.

I was...I say was a fit healthy guy in a physical job.

Cholesterol was okish

Swimmer runner and diet was not too bad..

I'm what's called sods law.

Angina is pretty easy to control when diagnosed correctly, either GTN Spray or Slow release Isosorbide Mononitrate. You just need to get your head around it all, I know easer said than done, but the alternative is a life of worry !!!

Thanks Frank

I think it's the worry that gets to me.

I was fit..running swimming you name it.

They called me sods law at the hospital

I'm not the typical guy to walk through a cardio ward....whatever type there is..

I'm gutted if it comes back as angina as I strongly suspect

Even more worried if it's Micro vascular angina

But I'm at present waiting to go to St George's London for MRI profusion scan to look aty tiny blood vessels

I'm struggling and it's definitely affecting my work and family life.

Regards

Rob

Unfortunately angina due to Microvascular or Coronary spasms is not easy to diagnose or treat or live with!

I know milkfairy

And I'm still waiting for my MRI profusion scan at St George's

There's been a typical clerical error in admissions

So now waiting for my letter of date

Hi Rob,

I am on all the same medication as you plus a low dose Bisoprolol which I take in the evening.

I have had several funny feelings since starting the medication following my stent and have only just gone back to work on reduced hours.

I have become forgetful and clumsy as well as one of my evening medications and there are 4 of them making me instantly sleepy to the point my eyes feel so heavy and want to shut. Some may say that’s a good thing but it’s not if you’re tying to be sociable!!

I am having trouble sleeping and get aches all over and mine is worse mid left arm which I have had checked by cardio who say it’s not heart related.

I am not saying I felt great before the stent but this has really taken its toll on me personally and professionally and I know my loved ones love me but it’s teally not fair on them. I have become too conformatable with the safety net of home and yet I am normally always on the go and out and about.

Not sure I have really helped but hope they sort it for you soon so you can get back to feeling well and doing all you want to.

Take care and regards

Tracy 😀

Sorry can't help with your stents query. However, Atorvastatin - nasty stuff. According to my GP it's the first statin they try due to cost. I ended up struggling to walk due to horrendous muscle in my leg and having to use a walking stick together around.yGP changed me to Rosuvastatin and finally 6 months later I have very little muscle pain at all. Hope this helps

Your just one of the lucky ones then.

I do like many other people have pain

in reply toRob6868

It's not just you by a long shot. I am in a group with people who have the same heart condition as myself. They did a survey recently and out of 2490 only 1 person could tolerate Atorvastatin
