anyone got any advise on propanol beta blockers on 5mg 3 times a day for my condition of SVT and pots and 4 weeks in and i have the most horrific stomach cramps ( loose bowels ) does this go away or is this it now ? something else to add to my list long list of health issues. Don’t think i can continue which is a shame as they helped ! But cat handle the pain.

My first thought is what othe medicationa are you on? If you are on a few it is common to prescribe a PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) like Omeprazole or Lansoprazole. Are you on one?

yes on Omeprozole also

With the caveat that I’m not medically qualified. There are other beta blockers that can be tried, and people quite often find if they can’t tolerate one, they may be able to tolerate another. Being honest, I would find having to take tabs three times a day for SVT a real inconvenience when most of the other available options are once a day. Failing that, a calcium channel blocker like verapamil can also be used: I was originally on bisoprolol for SVT before switching to verapamil when I encountered problems with side effects after a few years.
