Nothing unusual in that. Whilst it is a beta blocker it is a different one

You can't compare dosages like that. Looking at another window on my PC 12.5 mg is the starting dose for Carvedilol whilst 1.25 is the starting one for Bisoprolol. People make the same mistake with statins. I take 40 mg statin had no meaning if the statin is not specified.

Yes I've changed to from bisoprolol to carvedilol, I was on 2.5ml of bisoprolol and went to 12.5mg (6.25 morning and night) Carvedilol doseage starts at 12.5mg, and goes up in stages to 50mg max

Have you found it better than bisoprolol

Yes massively. I had a heart attack in December 2018, and by Feb 2019 the only side effect I was getting was being freezing cold and running nose. GP at that point not been terribly helpful suggested I discuss at next appointment with consultant in April! Did some research, and basically all Beta Blockers have a tendency to leave you with cold hands and feet, although carvedilol is a newer product than bisoprolol and has less of a tendency for cold hands and feet. Started on carvedilol in June and have I noticed a huge change over the last winter, much much better, still get a running nose if I'm out walking and it's a windy day, but I can cope with that, what I couldn't cope with was having hands that felt like they were immersed in ice water.

Hope the switch over helps you.
