I’m 37, in November I suffered a heart attack due to a blood clot. They then discovered I have a PFO. Obviously this has been a pretty stressful time and the 11 days I spent in Hospital in November pretty traumatic. My question is if anyone here has had a similar thing happen? Or has had a PFO closure and could tell me a little about, recovery time and such.
Thank you

Yes. I had a PFO closure ten years ago in my seventies. It was thought I may have had a blood clot and this followed a mild TIA.The closure itself was a simple day operation. Sometimes you are kept in overnight but it was not considered neccesary in my case. I went home in the evening and went straight to bed. Felt very energetic the next day and better than i had felt for a long time. I do have other heart issues but this did not at that time impinge on the surgery in any way.
Thank you for your reply, it has eased my mind a bit. Did having the closure bring back more energy as a daily thing after that? I have found myself being low on energy a lot and have had tests throughout my life to look into it but perhaps it was the PFO all along ☹️
