Can anyone help please

Good evening everyone. I have a follow up appointment with my cardiologist next week. I had a MINOCA heart attack last July. There wasn't any further tests done as such after they found I had no blockages. I went for a private consultation, and had a C.T. scan of my chest, which was clear, and February I had an MRI of my heart, where I believe the cardiologist said everything was ok, nothing to worry about. Both these tests were 7-8 months after my HA.

I still get really bad chest pains. I went to the A&E 3 times after the HA , when my D-dimer was 1362. But again no further tests were done.

Can anyone tell me what the following reading was on my blood test please taken when I had the HA.

Bloods: troponin 67 (19), eGFR >90, creatinine 54, CRP 8, WBC 8.8

Thank you, I just want to get ready for my cardio appointment. I have been made to feel like my HA was not serious, and I understand that. I just want these chest pains under control. I hope I'm not being a nuisance xx

Forum members are not qualified to give you much help on actual medical matters. You could try contacting the BHF nurses.

If you'd like to have a chat with a cardiac nurse or heart health adviser please call our Heart Helpline on 0300 330 3311, open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Hello Quiltingqueen,

Did your Cardiology team say why you had your MINOCA?

This is important as this maybe why you are still experiencing chest pain.

The common causes of a MINOCA are microvascular and vasospastic angina and blood clots blocking a coronary artery.

I suggest you ask your Cardiologist to carry out the relevant tests to check that you don't have either microvascular or vasospastic angina.

Also review your bloods for clotting disorders.

One of which is antiphospholipid syndrome which causes clotting problems and is related to microvascular angina.

I live with vasospastic angina, 10 years ago they were unsure whether I had a heart attack because my coronary arteries are clear.

My Cardiologist treats me just as though I did have a heart attack.

I am on clopidogrel and statins for life as well as other medications to try and prevent my coronary vasospasms causing a heart attack.

I am not prescribed beta blockers as this can make coronary vasospasms worse.

All heart attacks are serious and you are certainly not being a nuisance.

Ask your Cardiologist to explain your blood tests and tell them about your chest pain.

Good luck for your appointment.

Thank you, what you have explained makes sense to me. I will write it all down and discuss it with the cardiologist. They never told me why I had the MINOCA, and I had to see a private cardiologist to get the other tests done. But I feel it needs to be looked into further. Thank you for your lovely response to me xx I appreciate it xx
