I'm new to here, on Fri night I had bad chest pains which also went into my back, I didn't know what to do I took myself to bed and it eventually faded, since then I have had mild chest pains come and go. Felt a bit nauseas to im a 45yr old, who is overweight and diabetic also got m.s. . Not sure what to do or if its even a heart attack I heard that it can happen over a few days. I dont want to waste anyone's time. I know what some may say but do you think it's possible I'm having one.

You need to call 999 with chest pain and radiating pain.It may not be a heart attack but you need to check it out promptly. There are other symptoms that could be a heart attack but chest pain is one of them.

You definitely need to get it checked out, unfortunately being diabetic puts you in high risk bracket. Heart attacks are different for everyone, you need the blood test to check, troponin levels true indicator. With me, no family history, emergency didn't even think it was HA. Please get it checked out at hospital, gp not enough. Take care. Moni

My OH has MS and has over the years suffered from various things associated with it.There are a couple of things that would have me reaching for the phone, the markers for sepsis and chest pains.

And I wouldn't bother with 111, but phone 999. They ask all the question they need to assess the situation and will act accordingly.

I would highly recommend you phone them

Very similar to my symptoms experience. I called 999, they were there within 10 minutes, they diagnosed a heart attack straight away.

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine, like you I was also a little bit silly to ignore them and I put off dialing 111 for a chat for 24 hours.Within an hour of calling 111 I was in hospital, had tests and informed that I'd had a heart attack.....not all heart attacks feel like an elephant is sat on your chest.

Get on the phone now would be my advice.

You could have clogged arteries. Go to the Emergency Room and have it checked out. They can check for enzymes your heart releases when you have a heart attack. Even after the ER, assuming you didn’t have a heart attack, you should follow up with a cardiologist and have an echocardiogram and stress test to see if your arteries are clogged or not.

Please, please!!If you don’t want to call 999 at least get someone to take you to A&E and they can perform a blood test which can or cannot confirm that you’ve had a heart attack.

By ignoring the early signs you’re risking your own life!

All the best

Hiya my son had the same pains on and off for a few weeks , he has severe aortic stenosis but these pains were the first he'd had in years of having the condition . He, d also recently had covid at Christmas and a lot of dental treatment , he eventually went to a&e after tests they said he had immflamation in his heart so yes I'd definitely go and get it checked it's a few hours of a day that could save you from a lot more pain and reassurance , good luck be brave . It would be good to hear your all sorted🙂

Yes I agree with comments already written. I was having pretty mild chest pains, under my left boob would you believe! Not central at all, not crushing, not really that painful. I was referred to a Cardiologist due to family history alone.

Transpires I had a 90% blockage in my LAD Artery! I needed a stent put in.

I was 44 years of age. This only happened in November 2021.

I’d get it checked out. Let us know how you get on.

Call an ambulance. You def need to get checked out. My symptoms started about three weeks before and gp told me over phone i had acid reflux. I had pain and burning in my chest. Few times the week before the big event i was on the floor crying with the pain. Then show time came and there was no doubt as it felt like a 10 tonne truck on my chest. With the amount of damage done to my heart the consultant said it was possible I had a few mild attcks in the lead up to the one that nearly signed me me off.100% blockage in my LAD)Best wishes and take care x

Hi

999

There was a report on the BBC news in the last couple of days to phone 999 if you have any symptoms which could point to a heart attack. Get checked asap.

Even if you are not in cardiac crisis you are not wasting anyones time. Please do it.

Good luck

Maisie.

You are not wasting anyone's time. Chest pain- ring 999 immediately. I waited until the pain went up my neck and down my arm. It was a heart attack. I was lucky the ambulance arrived quickly.

Dear CP. none of us on this website know if you are having a HA but the worst case would be yes. You need to get your self to A&E ASAP without passing go or doing the shopping. It might be something else but the doctors will be able find out what it is. A blocked gall bladder can give some of the same pain symptoms. Four hours of your life sitting in A&E will be much better that what might happen if you don’t go. They will give you a cup of tea and a sandwich so it won’t be too bad. Good luck.

I had similar symptoms one evening. I just did not want to call 999 or waste anyone's time. Eventually my wife insisted we at least call 111. After taking my symptoms they said sit down, take some aspirin and ....... an ambulance (which they had automatically called) is on the way. It was heart related but not a heart attack when I left the hospital at 4am they said I had done the right thing. Call 999.

I think we all say to ourselves, no, it can’t be another heart attack. Then we panic, still not wanting to bother anyone. This has happened to me twice.

CALL 999, they are brilliant and do an ECG on arrival, usually take you in to have your bloods done to be absolutely sure.

If it’s not, you will be home in hours and can stop worrying 😊

Hi Cp, I hope you have by now phoned 999 ?I am a HF patient not HA, but my husband is a paramedic & I know he would prefer you called him out to have a check up & ECG than to be called to jump on your chest & break your ribs doing CPR !

Sorry to be so blunt.
