I have just been diagnosed with a left atrium dialation and advised to have an Ablation as a7 day monitor showed a lot of Atrial fibrillation even though I am on Bisoprolol & Apixiban.
I am extremely anxious about having a heart procedure as it is so scary and I am now fine on the dose of medication I am on but the Cardiologist said this is a progressive problem and my heart will stretch over time and then the ablation is not possible.
I’m sure there are people on here that have had an Ablation any advise please?

I had an ablation about 10 years ago it was fine. The procedure was a bit uncomfortable but not that bad. I haven’t been on any medication all this time but recently I have started to get palpitations so Iam waiting to see the cardiologist to see if I need the ablation done again. For me it’s been a success so good luck.
I had ablation on the 12th January, my treatment was superb and the staff were excellent.
Like you I was apprehensive, went in at 07.15 and was out later in the day. It took me a while to recover from the anesthetic, other than that no side effects, pain or discomfort. I did have bruises on my groin and arm which are now disappearing.
