These medications we need but they can be a right nuisance with side effects and trying to find out what suits us best
I am struggling with side effects from other meds and it gets you down
I think when we change meds the old one's can still be in our system for a few days at least so we have to give them chance to get out and as for the new one's just my opinion but I think 4 weeks to see if we can tolerate them
I also think Doctors like us to give them several weeks first before they will look at a change again to see if we settle down on them
Hopefully when you have had tie to adjust you will settle down and feel a lot better than you are now x
I have had an upset stomach 5 weeks now and it is driving me insane , somedays I could throw all my meds out but I just keep hoping eventually we will get the combination right and meantime trying to stay focused I have to take them :-0 x
I've just recently had my annual bloods done along with a diabetes appointment, my BP was a little high so I was asked to keep a record, morning and evening for 4 days and send in the results. The results surprised me tbh, highest morning was 183/111 and lowest evening 154/103.
A week later I had a call back from a Dr. She prescribed Amlopidine 5mg
In addition to the Ramipril 10mg I've been taking for years and will phone back to find out how it's going.
So, I'm on day 3 of the Amlopidine, my BP has improved a little but.... Chest pain. Nothing serious atm, about a 3/10
Betty, The medication effects can take a few days to go after stopping the ramipril. In roughly 5 days the medication amount in your system would be almost negligible. If your symptoms persist after that then a GP advice would be advised. Thank you. regards
Hi Betty, I was on amlodipine for over 5 years until it started to give me nasty side effects. My GP changed my treatment to bendroflumezide which has its own side effects. Tired of side effects I decided to take my health in my own hands, I informed my GP that I am going to commit to lifestyle change and healthy eating and see what will happen to my blood pressure. He was supportive of this idea. So I sat down and wrote down exactly what I was going to Commit to do. I had done some research on the subject of excersice and eating wholefoods. I am excersicing 5 days a week, a combination of aerobics and strength excersice with dumbbells. Reduced salt intake drastically, I cook all my meals, nothing processed, no takeaways. Eat a variety of wholefoods. I am absolutely determined to keep it up. That started 3 months ago and my blood pressure is now between 127/82 and 116/77. It used to be133/91 and 140/93. I am 66yrs old and I feel good with these regime of mine. My GP is pleased with how things are and he says I should keep it up. So this is just an idea I thought you may like to consider .
