Amlodipine and headaches

How long do headaches continue as side effect of Amlodipine please?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Amlodipine is a CCI (Calcium Channel Inhibitor). In the past I have been on two of these; Amlodipine and Diltiazem. For the first week to ten days it is not uncommon to experience headaches. Sometimes this may be accompanied by slight dizziness and nausea. If the symptoms continue seek medical advice.

I get less headaches on amlodipine!

Hello Dougiemac. If your having problems with this medication speak to your doctor. There's plenty of alternatives out there. Amlodipine gave me leg ulcers and a swollen ankle and I still have the slight swelling and scars 4 years on. Take care. Brian

Your welcome. Take care. Headaches are not good anytime. But not when caused by tablets

I’ve been on 5mg Amlodipine for almost 3 weeks and had a few headaches to start which subsided, but have started again. My BP is much improved but the headaches are preventing me from feeling up to par I think. Thank you for responding to me!

Your welcome. As I say plenty more tablets to go on. I am on Doxazosin 4mg and 2mg But I know these don't suit everyone. I been on them a year now and no problems. Brian
