Major Surgery with Cardiomyopathy?

I am 74 and have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy ( borderline heart failure ) and now have womb cancer. The problem is I really need major abdominal surgery ( can take 8hrs plus ) to try and remove it all, but the surgeon and anaesthetist dont want to because of my heart! I had a stroke 7 years ago ( prob due to then undiagnosed cardiomyopathy and on no meds ) and servere Osteoarthritis in hips and knees! I am taking blood thinner, statin, betablocker, blood pressure and small amount of water tablet. I have no symptoms from the cardiomyopathy, no lasting effects left from stroke only lack of mobility and pain from the osteoarthritis!

So my question is has anyboby had non cardiac major surgery with similar heart conditions or worse!? Hope you dont mind sharing but feeling quite desperate for help and advice?

Gosh. This is a major dilemma for you. I think you have to weigh up the pros and cons and then discuss them with family and your GP if you trust them. Maybe also include a friendly cardiologist if you can fine one. There are risks involved whatever you do .Not least is the survival time you might enjoy after the surgery assuming it will all go well compared with your survival time if you do not have the operation. Others will also try and advise you on this forum.I really do think this is a weighing up of of all the possibilites and then deciding what to do.
