I was treated as an ACS 10 weeks ago, and had a stent inserted as a result of ' moderate /severe mid - LAD lesion'. Everything else was normal and no damage to the heart muscle. I was also diagnosed as 'possible late presentation of takotsubo cardiomyopathy '.I have been recovering quite well with less frequent twinges until 2 days ago when chest tightness/ache started again. moving around my chest . This happened in the evening on resting and the glyceryl spray doesn't seem to help. I have been exercising with no problems ,Level 4 cardio rehab ( cancelled yesterday because of Covid surge) ,walking in the cold quite briskly , resumed my walking workout and generally felt fine although more breathless than pre stent. Medication?
I am due a review after 3 months but have no appointment yet.
My question are , has anyone else experienced this so long after the procedure and what can go wrong now that my blockage is 'fixed' and I am taking the medication? I am concerned that I feel my heart much more than before. I did go to A and E a week after my procedure and was told I was fine. I am apprehensive about going to A and E again as there is a surge in omicron/Covid here in Manchester and A and E is struggling to cope. Can it take this long for the stent to settle ?
I would very much appreciate hearing your experiences and advice as I am starting to worry .
A Happy New Year and let us hope it is better than the last one.
