High anxiety

I have come to the end of six months of investigations, being told I had had a heart attack by my GP, (which I didn’t ) , going for a CT scan and finally after a 6 month wait an echo cardio gram. After the CT scan I was told I had minor furring in two vessels, but also a mildly dilated pulmonary artery. I was told at the weekend the echo was normal and I have been discharged. I am wracked with fear. They are stopping my medication too. I have a Cad rad score of 1. I have fat in two arteries and I didn’t realise it can break off and kill me at any given moment and I am not having any follow up or treatment. I am petrified. My cholesterol is average ,but could be a little lower and I don’t know what to do. I have had six months of terrible worry and now think I am going to keel over at any time and won’t have a very long life anyway. I can’t talk about this to my partner , he thinks I am ok.

Hi Mollusc. You’ve been through a lot and it really does take time to get your head around it all. As you’ve had conflicting information it must be really confusing too. Perhaps make an appointment with your GP to discuss the medical reports in detail so you can see how you’ve got to where you are now and that might help with your anxiety. Your GP can treat you for anxiety too, arranging counselling and maybe some meds to help.
