Hello Adam and welcome to the forum!

We are a peer-to-peer support group and nobody here can give you a definitive answer. You need to ask your GP or cardiologist. Combined inappropriately it could cause dizziness, a loss of consciousness and in rare cases death. So don't experiment!

Dear Adamwillis,

As Michael JH has said in his reply post only your medical team can answer you on that question.

The reason for my reply is to tell you what my heart team said about the exact question when I asked them.

Viagra with me was fine to be taken as long as I didn’t use the gtn spray at the same sort of time, there is an on going trial to see if viagra or that type of drug is actually good for the heart.

This was all spoken about after my bypass operation as before it I was to reliant on the gtn spray and this added to viagra can be dangerous in some situations.

Also taking viagra can have problems on the hearts function, so if you have a weakness there it is best to get that sorted first.

I now take a low dose Tadalafil {2.5mg} tablet every day which suits me better than the viagra, it is Lao low enough not to cause any problem with other medication that I am on, again all this was cross checked by the medical team and my pharmacist.

If your using viagra for ED problems related to your condition please talk to your drs/medical team about it as there are many avenues that they can point you down now.

I think, like you , that you should if possible regain as much of your normality as possible. Sure it may take time but you will get there.

Hope this helps

You will need a prescription anyway to get viagra so will have to speak to your doctor about it. I know it is not as easy as going into a chemist and getting it off the shelf you have to fill in a health form, which includes what meds you are on and conditions you have. After you have been assessed if there is a problem you have to go to a GP for a prescription.

Viagra had been available over the counter in pharmacies in U.K. for a while now. But we (pharmacists) do an assessment and your scenario would be a referral to Gp for further assessment of safety. Viagra was initially produced to treat a type of hypertension so it does cause a drop in bp

I have no clue but my initial thoughts are you should seek some medical advice re this.

Now Viagra can be bought off the shelf from the pharmacy you should get some advice from the pharmacist.
