Acupuncture Mats

Hi all,

Since my bypass I have had a lot of lingering upper-body aches and pains as well as a recent bout of sciatica which has been uncomfortable to say the least.

I have been considering getting an acupuncture mat and pillow to hopefully relieve some of the pain. Has anyone here tried one before and did it work?

Thanks all for any advice or comments.

Hi, me and my girlfriend have been using one for years. They are nice and work on the very simple principle that by pricking and stimulating your skin and muscle under your own body weight, they trigger endorphin release, which obviously is healing and makes you help relax. When I am tense or nervous, I lay on it 15 or 20 minutes before going to sleep. I generally fall asleep on it like a baby after 5 minutes. It really works a charm. When you lay on it it hurt a bit to start with, but you get used after a few minutes. If you place it on your mattress, rather than on a hard surface, it's easier to get used to it. The brand I have is called Mysa. Hope this helps

Thanks, that's great advice! Glad to hear it's helped you and your girlfriend. I will get one and try it.
