I had a heart implant fitted in June but little information was given to me at the time about what it does.. I've got high blood pressure now and keep blacking out.. So been told I can not drive until tests are completed... Wish someone would tell what

What sort of implant and why was it fitted ?

It's a biotronik implant because I black out.. I have had high uncontrolled high blood pressure this year

So it's a pacemaker for Bradycardia but if you are still fainting you may need the settings changed, call your pacing team so they can check what's happening with it.

I assumed with fainting and a device it was probably a pm but without much information to go on it's difficult to know, I'll keep out of it !

It could be a pacemaker or a loop recorder or an ICD. Surely the first thing you need to do is find out exactly what type of implant you have. Look at the paperwork or/and ask your cardiologist or GP. Then you can find out exactly what it does.

Hi Tigger. What is the implant called on your discharge letter? You need to go to a&e if you are still blacking out.

They have referred me back to heart and lung its a loop recorder
