I had two stents implanted Fri 18th August this year, on the usual meds for blood thinning, high blood pressure etc.
Although I don't get the chest pains I used to, I find I get out of breath pretty quickly, never bothered me before. I have put on a wee bit of weight since the procedure due to taking it easy as advised, but even when I have been over weight I never got this short of breath so quickly.
Is it to do with the medication or, am I more out of condition than I think?

Hi Images. It’s still early days for you so I wouldn’t worry about not getting back to your former self. Have you been to cardio rehab yet? If it’s available I can thoroughly recommend it. They can help with getting your weight down and your body back up to speed. I found the medications slowed me down for quite a while but I gradually got used to them and was able to drop a couple after the first year. And i now (most of the time) feel better than ever but that took many months. Good luck.
Thanks Steve, Not had cardio rehab yet but phoned up the hospital this morning to find out A. Why I haven't had a follow up appointment yet.
B. To ask about cardio rehabilitation( The Nurse seemed surprised I had not been seen yet)
So I hope to get a phone call or letter in the next week, I'll be 66 years young on Sunday, never felt so 90ish when exercising(I was still 40ish at 60!
Hi Rose, well done you and keep it up, can you remember what particular neds it is that cause the breathlessness? I'm assuming it would be one of the ones most people can come off after a year. Thanks for the input thus far.
Go to your gP for a check up and tell them. I found certain of the tablets made me so exhausted I couldn't get out of the chair. My GP changed them and I was much better. Some people react badly to certain medications.
