As a concerned wife, I feel like offloading recent developments following my 73 year old husband Tom’s heart attack. He had a hugely unexpected major attack (widowmaker) last February necessitating urgent care, four stents and a lifetime’s stash of pills. The NHS were brilliant and we have since had eight months of progressive improvement, enjoying long walks and a good quality of life despite some permanent heart damage.
A recent echocardiogram showed an ef of 43, up one from 42, but an MRI revealed a thrombus. No. He didn’t jump any queues – he went privately on a need-to-know basis. Apparently he needs to start clopidogrel and edoxaban instead of aspirin and prasugrel. The rest: atorvastatin, bisprolol, eplerenone, lansoprazole and rampril can continue as per usual.
Anyone else had a thrombus following HA and stents? Or taking any or all of the above – especially clopidogrel and edoxaban? Thoughts and feedback appreciated in this ‘wobbly’ time – thanks!
