Yes I had one last December. My cardiologist was in attendance in the anti room so saw everything as the MRI was being undertaken. I waited months for the results in fact it was only discussed when i raised it at my my next cardiac phone app, must have been four months after at the least, all was well.

I assume had there been an issue I would have been contacted right away or there and then if anything really untoward was found.

Dear SeagullerYes, twice. First time was my annual MRI, which I didn’t expect to hear much, but the next day, a Saturday, the consultant rang me from her personal mobile phone. She told me the stenosis was now in urgent need of immediate treatment.

Next mri was in hospital awaiting AVR.

The medics discussed the results before I returned to my room. surgeon discussed the results next day. Operation followed.

So hearing nothing is good news.

3 Months for me, like others I thought it would be good news. It wasn't, now need "urgent" double bypass.

Were you contacted via phone?

I got a letter saying he would phone, didn't concern me at all as it was so far in the future 🙄

Did the letter come after 3 months or the call?

I had the MRI on July 4, which was strange as it was a Sunday. The phone call from the surgeon was Oct. 4.

Oh ok. Did you get a letter before that?

Yes, the letter was a long time before the phone appointment, hence why I wasn't worried 🙄

Hi Had my MRI whilst in hospital 3 weeks back and got my results 2 days later, not sure how long I would have had to have waited if I'd had it in Papworth as originally planned.

I’ve had a few over the years and they say 2-3 weeks to process results. Then you have to wait for a consultant slot which takes longer in Covid. In 2020 I had another routine scan in August and saw the cardiac surgeon in October who at that point recommended surgery because of a swelling aorta. I was a little shocked as I had assumed no news was good news! Having said that it wasn’t an urgent problem and ultimately was elective surgery. I think they would be quicker if there was an urgent problem.

Don't know how long the wait is for cardiac MRI results but been waiting for the actual scan since March. No indication of an appointment coming through yet. Good luck 🤞
