Seizures

Hi,

I'm almost 6 years on from AVR,

and apart from the odd warfarin check and chat with my consultant I'm pretty much back to normal.

My problem is , I had a night time seizure/fit, back in January and was blue lighted to hospital,

Where I was given the works, and nothing was found.

Now I'm being "treated" for epilepsy!

The reason I've posted on this page and not the epilepsy version is,

My partner has a friend at work ,

who's father has had pretty much the same experience!

I was wondering if there's anyone out there who can shed some light on this,

Cheers for any help.

Blood thinners can lead to small bleedings, even in the brain which may show as seizures. May be your dosage of warfarin is too high? Please ask your GP about this possibility. I hope I'm wrong because my son has seizures sometimes and that's hard.

Thanks for that. When I was a child I had epileptic fits. Since age 11 I have taken antiepileptic drugs. I have not had a fit since then. I had a heart attack just over a year ago. One of the meds I am on is rivaroxaban. Occasionally I have felt closer to having a fit than I have felt in 60 years.

Seizures can be outgrown, but unfortunately my son started to have them at 33 after a brain surgery. He must avoid stress, more than a glass of wine or beer and sleep enough. Besides his medication he uses CBD which helps him to relax.

I wish you all the best for your health.
