100 days since open heart surgery for leaking mitral valve.

This is me at the summit of CATBELLS this morning. Reached the top in 36 minutes non stop. All thanks to hard work and the fantastic rehab girls at Papworth.

All those small steps lead to larger steps lead to the success I had today.

Wow, Luke I'm impressed as well as being a little jealous of you being in that glorious countryside. What a great story to hear - well done you!

Congratulations on making the summit!

And full credit to your indomitable attitude, that's how you bounce back from open heart surgery. Looking forward to hearing about the other splendid walks that are no doubt in your future!

I’m new here and hoping for mitral repair in next 2-3 months at Barts. Your post is so encouraging! Well done, you made it, and what a wonderful celebratory picture

That is fantastic to hear and well done to you - that is no mean feat!!!

Although I too had wonderful care at Papworth and subsequently at my local hospital (West Suffolk) following my Mitral Valve repair, but after 100 days I was barely able to cycle 5 miles having to recover also from Infective Endocarditis, so I really can appreciate the magnitude of what you have achieved!!
