Hey I’m 20 days post op after having open heart to repair MVP with regurg. I’ve been doing as told “nothing and walking” but past few days I’ve this constant sharp pain going across right to left on the centre of the chest with the worst pain being in the centre by the scar. I’m only on paracetamol ad gp won’t give me anything else. Has anyone else had something like this post op?

After my quadruple I had quite severe breastbone pain. When they tried me on just Paracetamol it felt as if vampire hunters had arrived with a wooden stake. I left hospital on Tramadol four times daily. After the first week I reduced them by one tablet la week adjusting the timings to suit. So sorry I do not understand your GP's attitude. Pain actually slows healing and can hinter essential breathing exercises. I still had the odd twinge at eight weeks but all gone at twelve. Ring the GP in the morning and don't take no as an answer. Good luck!
