Hi guys, just joined the site. Iv had 2 stents inserted in my main artery 10 days ago. I still have pain in my back and arm, plus a bit of breathlessness like before. The doc said I'd 90% blockage and he needed to do a lot to get stents in. I never had heart spray or heart pain meds as I was diagnosed and treated in a very quick space of time. I'm just wondering should I still be feeling the same 10 days post op? Is this normal? Iv not had a heart diagnosis before but did have a stroke in 2013.

Post op pain after stent
Although you do get odd aches and pains after wards it wouldn't harm to try a GTN spray.Have a word with your GP.
Hi Maria, I had 2 stents fitted at the beginning of June, no prior history of heart disease and considered myself fairly fit. I did not see cardiac rehab in hospital or have any follow up for a few weeks, but 10 days after leaving hospital I was getting quite a lot of discomfort, including pain between the shoulder blades. Spoke to my GP who referred me to local ambulatory day care centre at hospital. Had ECG, bloods and CT scan. Bottom line was everything looked fine and that some people do get 'settling down' discomfort/pain. There are several discussions on this site related to this issue.
Bottom line is that for me things have slowly improved and whilst occasional twinges, things seem improved. Doctor I spoke to this week advised it can take 3 to 6 months for your body to get used to the stents and medications. Certainly had a few issues in the early weeks, but come back here regularly as there are people with all sorts of experience who will share.
Bottom line remains if you're not happy, speak to your GP or cardiologist.

I think your body has to adjust and this takes at least a few months, I had a stent fitted last Boxing Day and had odd feelings and pains afterwards and at one one went to A&E to get checked as it is a bit scary. But I found things do settle down. If in doubt don’t hesitate to go to A&E good luck 👍
