Stent put in now palpitations.
The heart does not really like being messed about with, be it open heart or minimally invasive surgery and sometimes responds with arrhythmias. This is why pacing wires are left in after OHS.
Sometimes there can be triggers. Have you tried eliminating coffee, alcohol, chocolate and spicy foods from your diet. Stress is far harder to eliminate.
I assume it is your systolic blood pressure that goes up to 130 and not your diastolic which really warrants a visit to A&E.
Thanks for your reply, yes it is my systolic pressure,I'm not a goody goody, haven't smoked for 3yrs,no alcohol for over a year, don't drink coffee, tea or eat chocolate since heart attack, don't use salt in my home cooking, and don't use sugar,I mostly drink water and soya bean sugar free milk, and have a healthy diet,no junk food,if there is a trigger to my palpitations it's a job to know what. Thanks again.
I don't know if this helps but after my first stenting (LAD) a few years ago I had palpitations starting a few weeks after the procedure. Very disconcerting! My cardio gave me a few medications to try (flecaine?) but I think they eventually (mostly) went away on their own. I also suspect some kind of side effect from Plavix -- palpitations are a known one.
Definitely tell your cardiologist as for me the stress from a palpitation was horrible, leading to more stress and palpitations...etc.
