Hi, I had a stent fitted 3 weeks ago and ever since I got home I’ve had palpitations, chest pains and lightheaded feeling It can last for hours at a time. Mostly when Im resting or wakes me from sleep but also after exercise. Cardiac nurse thinks its Bisop and I came off it 4 days ago. It has become less severe since the Bisop was halved a week ago but Im really scared, its so debilitating. I literally can’t do anything. My hr, bp and ecgs are all fine. Has anyone experienced this and can offer any words of comfort please? Best wishes

Palpitations and chest pain after stent fitted. Possible problems with Bisoprolol?
Hi DeedeeYes most likely its the med and it also takes bit time for stent to be part of your body as having anything new in your body will take time to settle, hopefully it will get better. As for lightheaded, feeling are you drinking plenty of water?
Hi Deedee,
I had exactly the same as you .
I had my HA April
Last year 1 stent. When I came out of hospital very dizzy with drugs they halved my beta blocker and this helped . I think it takes time for stents to settle down and I mistakenly took this that I was having another HA. Tight chest , shoulder pain palpitations all caused by anxiety and stents settling in which I didn’t know at the time .
You will honestly get there it’s early days . It took
Me a few months but can honestly report that I am so much better now . You will
Get there too ,
Take care x
Morning Deedee. I had my ha in October. Two agents fitted, some complications a week later which required further angiogram. It's took me a number of months to get a balance with my mess. I have now stopped the bisop as it seems it was causing me shortness of breath and contributing to my anxiety, which to reassure you is perfectly normal and will improve....i agree with other posts here re the stent adjusting to your tissues, it can take many months for this to fully blend in so be patient cos you can't do anything to rush that process... Your hr, BP and ecg are fine so thats reassuring....my meds changes were only actioned by my consultant on follow up, not by my GP..... I'm only now, 4 months down the line feeling accepting of the situation and trying to see positives, of which there are many....everyone reacts differently to trauma and I don't think there is such thing as a patient patient....push for a follow up with your specialist if not already booked for one but remember, it's early days..... Good luck...
Its really kind of you to reply. I’m starting to accept that a lot of this is anxiety and it’s definitely been improved by stopping the bisop. From your reply and others I can see that things take time. When I stopped the med I expected it all to go away and I definitely need patience! The hardest part is not being able to move without palps so just can’t get on with things and life in general. I’m lucky in the fact that the Cardiac rehab are being great and they are trying to get to the bottom of it. Glad you’re coming to terms with things, wishing you all the best.
