Hi, it's been almost 4 years since my diagnosis of Heart Failure, I'm on Entresto, Inspra, Carvedilol, and Atorvastatin. I'm a delivery driver, and do around 15-20K steps a day, so I get plenty of excersize !!
However, I do struggle when I've been climbing stairs, either to flats or at home, and still get breathless from this, but it passes after a few minutes. Also, when I get home, I need to have a nap for a couple of hours, but not sure this is more a habit than necessity 🤔.
I'm worried about my tablets, mainly the Entresto, and have read that it's may cause dementia and eye problems. Every time I dither, or forget something I start to panic.!!
Am I being daft or is this normal for someone who's had this condition sprung on them from out of the blue.... ?
Sorry for the long post,
Sammy x

Welcome Sammyford, My HF was 6 years again. I have been on Entrestro for 3 years which has kept me out hospital and recently on eplerenone (inspra) plus Tresiba (diabetic). EF is 25% was 15%. Hoping my EF will increase with new medication eplerenone. Keep in mind your HEART situation might be different. I check all my medications that I take and make sure they did not interact with each other. I check my blood pressure, wt., and sugar to make sure they are not the problem. As for naps, my body wants me to rest because I tend to overdo. I have had to make adjustments as I am older. 10 years ago I could climb stairs as well, but now only occasional and slowly. You know your body the best, listen to it. I would like to know more about that FDA report, too. I am seeing an eye doctor next month to see if my cataracts gotten worst in my eyes due to the medications. The final decision will be yours. Have a Blessed Day!
