Hi I’ve seen it advertised and funny you mention it. I was talking about it with my dr having just come out of hospital. I said didn’t think my blood pressure machine was given correct readings. I was looking at it and an Apple Watch etc. My dr said just buy new blood pressure machine. So I bought the omron 7 it’s pretty impressive.

Thanks for the reply ❤️

I don't have AF or the Kardia, I did have suspected AF for a short while and my GP suggested the Kardia.

Also, another GP in my practice does have AF and I know he uses the Kardia, but sorry can't comment other than it's a good advert if he uses it!

I used to have one when I used to suffer from a different arrhythmia. I found it to be very useful. However, I didn’t need it after having my CRT-P device fitted (in fact, the signal recorded was much smaller and difficult to read).Incidentally, do you know that there is a separate HealthUnlocked forum for AF? It’s very active and I’m sure you will find many who will share their views on the Kardia device there.

I have AF and also use a Kardia which I've found fantastic. I have on an occasion been away and felt unwell, used the Kardia and emailed the trace straight over to my EP . Of course it also helps to have a good EP, which thankfully I have, and he can see if there's anything g else untoward going on. I'm not tethered to mine and only use it if I'm feeling a little "off" or if I havent used for a while and just want to check. I'm currently in permanent AF, so like to check that my heart rate isnt going too crazily high. Funnily enough one of my daughters was feeling light headed yesterday and we used it on her to check her HR and also took her blood pressure using my Omron.

Of course none of it replaces a doctor but I think that they are very helpful.

I don’t generally have AF but I have a Kardia mobile which my cardiologist recommended prior to my mitral valve replacement, just to keep an eye on palpitations. I think it’s good, and can be reassuring when the result is normal. However I do think that before anyone gets/uses one it’s important to have good advice from doctors about what to do when any results that aren’t normal.

Thanks. I have decided to get the Omron bp machine which shows heart irregularities. Awaiting cardio version ! Valve surgery on hold. How was yours ?

Also if you do buy from them it asks you to add batteries to basket. Don’t bother batteries included

Not yet, but I have one on order. My cardiologist suggested it to track down possible atrial fibrillation. The alternative is an implanted recorder. Apparently it is has had positive evaluations from NICE (I think). The suggestion is to send the cardiologist the device output when I am suffering. It apparently produces an ECG. He says that the one lead device is adequate.

Thankyou. Very helpful

Was informed I had A/F last year, got the Kardia 6 lead version and use it with great confidence.

Any suspicious looking ECG readings get e-mailed to my Cardi NP who advises of anything to wrry about (even though I don't know what the squiggly lines mean, I'm now starting to understand when they mean everything is OK).

Extremely easy to use, extremely portable and hooks up to my iPhone or iPad with absolute ease.

Tested against the Cardio Clinic 12 lead ECG monitor, and for those same 6 leads, got identical results.

Yes, it is a bit of a chunk to pay out, but I've found it really useful and those ECG's have helped my Cardio Clinic in managing my condition (they like the idea they can just ask for an ECG submission taken under various circumstances and hey presto...).

I wish you well in the management of your AF

That’s very helpful. Thanks. Have just bought the Omron so will see how I get on. Hopefully after cardioversion won’t need it !
