Hi,

I was diagnosed with ischemic heart disease on February and was placed on clopidogrel, rosuvastatin, isosorbide dinitrate and nebivolol since then. But, yesterday i started feeling body weakness like fever and i took malaria drugs cos it looks its symptom. But i dont know could it be clopidogrel side effect or any of this my prescription drug side effect? Should i continue taking these drugs?

Best one to ask about medication interactions and side effects is your pharmacist. They are my first go to before gp. Then based on what they recommend, I go to gp. They will not decide whether you should stop medication, only gp or cardiologist will. Side effect list, the higher on the list, the more it might affect you. But everyone is different. Take care. Why on earth would you take an anti malaria drug. Drugs treat causes not symptoms. Talk to your GP.

I am really surprised that you are taking an unprescribed drug to overcome the side effects of a prescribed drug. Surely the problems that you are experiencing should be referred back to whoever prescribed the drugs so that the issue can be addressed. Adding medication in order to attempt to solve an issue is, in my experience, never a good thing.

I’ve had same symptoms been online and it’s a common side affect of this drug many people having some terrible problems on clopidrogrel
