Do I have Angina or Asthma?

In last 6 weeks I have experienced pain in my chest every time I walk briskly for even a relatively short distance or swim . I’ve had to ask walking partners to slow down as my chest feels like it does At the end of a run (I don’t run these days). I’m 64, a bit overweight, non smoker, occasional light drinker with very low resting heart rate (52). I wonder if it’s exercise induced Asthma or Angina or something else.

What you are describing sounds awfully like angina, when I saw my GP about similar symptoms several years ago the "giveaway" was when I said to him "it's comes on quicker if I'm talking to my wife whilst we are walking".The following day I had an appointment at a Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic where I was diagnosed with angina and given a cocktail of medicines which worked a treat.

At the least speak to your surgery today or call 111
