Hi I would be so grateful if someone could offer some advice I had a stroke in February so the DR's ordered some tests I presume to see if my heart is functioning normally Last week I had an echocardiogram and on my patient access I see it says Normal However below it is an entry saying Left ventricular ejection fraction I have looked up this term and my understanding is it is the pressure of the blood leaving the heart and is usually written as a percentage high low etc there is no percentage or information just the comment LVEF so I'm guessing its of no concern maybe its there but nothing worth worrying about?

LVEF
Hi Mully, I had a stroke in December 2019, thrombolised with no after effects, however subsequent investigations revealed I have aFib (rythm not rate) I was put on various meds to control but have since been diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy which is where the left ventricle is 'baggy' and doesn't pump properly. Your results are probably looking to see if that MAY be an issue. If it is please be reassured it can be managed with meds. They are just checking every part of your heart.
Yes you are right in saying that EF should be in %. LV can be mentioned as normal . If LV is dialated then there is a risk of heart failure Yours says normal so you are ok
HI Dkhanka thanks for the reply Its strange there are two entries first one said echocardiogram normal Then completely separately LVEF no explanation I don't understand if the echo is normal surely that would be the end of it, But later as an entry in my notes LVEF I am sure I have nothing to worry about If my heart is good then I have plenty more miles left on the clock HaHa
If there was anything serious, they would flag it or inform you of the next step. All the best Mully .
