Questions for TAVI surgeon

I have been deemed suitable for a TAVI (bicuspid valve) and am seeing the surgeon for the first time tomorrow. Any help with what questions I need to ask would be most welcome. Thanks.

I have a bicuspid valve but on the watch and wait. I'm surprised no one has answered as there is many helpful people that have been through the same.

Do have any aneurysm with the valve?

How did the meeting with the surgeon go?

It was a strange experience. It was clear that he was the 'gatekeeper' to my TAVI op and, he said he was indeed happy to put me straight on the list - likely wait 3-4 months. He then started to talk about and ask me to consider waiting until I was more symptomatic - 6/12/18 months were mentioned. It became clear that he wasn't going to advise me about which was the more sensible option - even when I asked him what he would say to me if I were his father! Left me a bit bewildered as I don't really feel in possession of enough hard information to make this life changing decision - but I must. Any thoughts most welcome.

I'm surprised he would say wait till you are more symptomatic. Although, in a lot of instances a surgeon will say ...this will need to be done within the year etc.

Everything is so individual with any surgical intervention.

What are your symptoms now?
