I had been on Verapamil for years when it was suddenly stopped and replaced with bisoprolol 4 years ago. I had no problems at all with the change.

Hope all goes well for you 🍀

If the cardiologist has said it’s ok, I would trust their opinion. The main reason given for the ‘don’t suddenly stop’ advice that goes with many medications is not due to a risk directly associated with stopping, but due to the risk of rebound symptoms/worsening the underlying condition: if it’s not helping you anyway, it’s unlikely to make your situation worse.
