The English countryside is among the most beautiful in the world. I took this near Stoke Bruerne, a little over halfway through our walk

I don't know too many Canals but I DO know the River Ouse, the one in Bedfordshire, quite well.....or I used to Fifty Years ago!

More recently we, my mother and I, had friends in Erith- where the river 'splits' into two (technically three). The main river becomes The Hundred Foot Drain- a Canal Of Sorts- the other part, goes through a lock, before running along as The Old West River- a very ancient waterway- which becomes the Ouse again once the River Cam joins.

Happy memories, from over Half a Centaury ago!
