This is a zoom meeting with many experts questioning the government ending of lockdown rules on July 19. The meeting is chaired by Professor Alice Roberts. Please watch and then inform others of what is said.

Thank you.

What does it say? As in a quick synopsis.

Basically that unlocking on the 19th is a bad idea.. The people in the video are all medical experts. It’s worth taking the time to watch.

in reply to Bennydog42

Except it won’t change anything!

And another bunch of ‘experts’ will have a different opinion!

You are entitled to your own opinion..

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t disagree.

I’m the same I agree its too soon and infection rate is too high but like you said a bunch of so called experts chatting isn’t going to chance bojos mind . And I’m one of those who think my heart attack is because of the vaccine.

Yeah this is gona put the frightners up folk , we have all been locked up for long enough , if they can have thousands in Wembley we should be able to start getting on with our life’s , I won’t be watching this video and I hope no one else does either , there is some vulnerable people on this site

Here's the thing that's surprised me.

At the beginning of lockdown there was much discussion about whether Britons would ever follow lockdown rules. The theory went that the people of this country were unique in Europe, with such a deep sense of individual liberty that we'd never accept our freedoms being curtailed like this.

Yet by and large we actually followed the rules to the letter. And the latest polls show something very interesting. About two thirds of us believe that masks, social distancing and travel restrictions should continue for at least another month or so. Just over half would support these restrictions being maintained until Covid was conquered worldwide, which may take years. And a very substantial minority, over a third in fact, would support these restrictions being maintained permanently, simply as a precaution against any future outbreak. Wow!

Personally I'm chomping at the bit to be rid of social distancing rules, but I guess I have to recognise that the majority of my fellow citizens are far more patient!

I saw a truly bizarre claim this week. Apparently more people have been suffocated wearing a mask than have died of CovID! I will be putting on a mask for my outpatient appointment later today. Or they will not see me!

in reply to MichaelJH

Well! I felt as if I was being suffocated under those masks too.

I can't find my original post from last summer/autumn. In rehab I put on a mask and went for an out patient's appointment. When I got back I went straight into the rehab gym. At the end of the session my O2 level was 100% and my mask was on the whole time..

I have a dripping nose and breathlessness from Bisoprolol. I have SVT, HEARTBLOCK and MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE. I walk couple hundred yards and I feel breathless. But at 74 I,m still alive!

Where did you read this? It sounds completely ridiculous.

Which part? The airport thing was in the sun a few days ago.. Today a story stating that vaccinated people are going to be allowed to return from abroad with out quarantine, this to be announced in the next couple of days. This was on the Sky news website.

I think we have our wires crossed. My comment about it sounding ridiculous was addressed to Michael's post of people suffocating!?I am totally of the opinion that it's too early to open up.

This morning I put on the TV. First thing I listened to was a local radio station but underwhelmed by the poor DJ I turned to BBC 1. There were a number of "experts" (can I be one ease) and test they disagred.

What puzzles me is with cases climbing rapidly, hospitalizations increasing and some hospitals starting to say some routine procedures may be cancelled they are pressing ahead with this July 19th madness. Date driven not data driven?!

in reply to MichaelJH

Yes.. 5 million on waiting lists and 2/3 of hospital beds ‘earmarked’ for Covid patients apparently.

5,122,017 in April (NHS Figures).

It is insane. Common sense out the window…

Also.. to add to a comment way above.. apparently the higher rise in ‘male’ cases is down to the football… pubs/ terraces I don’t know… but groups generally I would think.. Social distancing is good for your health…
