Hi

It took me a while for my stent to settle. I would think i vegan to feel

Better after a month post HA.

I was very anxious following HA and had to try really hard to control my anxiety and negative thoughts .

Glad to report 1 year on following HA I am so much better .

Hope you go on ok we are here for you if you need us as we’ve been where you are now x

I had one stent 11 weeks ago. I.think.it probably varies between people? I was very tired for about 4 weeks and took an afternoon nap each day . I think its a case of pacing yourself and taking it easy till.you feel stronger.

Good morning, everyone is different I got two stents ten weeks ago following a heart attack, I personally felt in a lotta pain afterwards and there was also what I’d call a bubbling sensation as well like trapped air or something similar, there would be a cramp feeling as well , this does pass , well it does but it takes time , I still get cramping and still get some pains but it’s easing now it’s not as painful but I still get twinges . Listen to your body and Remmber that every single one of us have a different story and feel things differently. A headache you could have and get on with your day , may cripple someone else who can’t cope with it . Hugs n love . Take care of you .

Totally agree. Zero time to get over the actual stents (apart from the arterial bruising), but a couple of weeks to get over the HA and back to full (and better) operation within a couple of months.

I had a cardiac arrest during the procedure and now, just over 2 months later, I feel fitter than I ever did and I'm back at work full-time.Depending on the condition of your arteries beforehand, after stents you'll either feel a lot better than you did, or you'll feel a LOT better. It may take a few weeks but you'll get there.

Yes, I don't think you can generalize.

In my case, I had 2 stents fitted a year ago; felt fine (even a LOT better, see above comment) for the first 6 weeks then began getting persistent stomach/chest pains, which might have been reflux. But also had more heart checks done including another angiogram to see if the stents were the problem.

They seemed to be fine but then I had cardiac arrest this April! (it was a different artery) That was followed by an HA while coming out of anaesthesia...So now I have 4 stents in two different arteries (LAD and circuflex) and am slowly getting back to "normal" sensations, whatever they are.

Interestingly, this time I don't have the stomach issues but still have chest pain 2 months later (could have been from chest compressions that saved my life) but it could also be from the stents. It's really, really hard to disentangle pain sources in your chest/upper stomach, unfortunately.

My slightly-informed layman's intuition tells me that my heart and arteries have not really adapted to having the stents, to be honest, especially after having major blockage in the LAD for probably years...

This isn't meant to scare you but to make you aware of different reactions.

I had two stents after my heart attack and absolutely no problems at all. I had awful problems with a lot of the tablets, many of which had to be changed but with the stents nothing at all. I couldn't even tell i had them. ( apart from eh bruising in my arm).

Some niggles afterwards that I accepted as normal. After about 4 weeks I could pretty much ignore the feeling but look at my wrist where they went in and silently thank the Doctor every day that put it there. Back to work after 6 weeks and was careful to begin but love being back full time now. I like my tiny scar and would not be afraid for further stents fitted if needs be. 😺

A tan?? I have forgotten what that looks like, lol. I usually wear a watch on my jollydays so I have a white "Casper" line to see the change. My scar is right under where my watch strap is and I am bruising so easily at the minute, even from that I can't wear one.
